Meet Our Team

Angelica Cravens has worked in the mental health field since 2010. However, she did not start her journey as a therapist until 2019. She has worked in the administration part of the mental health field as an administrative assistant, billing coordinator, human resources manager, and part owner of Cravens Professional Services, LLC. While doing her work in the administrative part of the mental health field, she became very interested in the clinical part of the mental health field. In 2019, she began her journey to become a licensed social worker. During this journey, she has worked at the 13th Juridical Court District, Sandoval, as an intern with Pre-trial services and Client Support Services. In 2020, she worked as an intern at A Child’s Voice until she graduated with her Master’s in Social Work. After graduating she worked with A New Awakening Rio Rancho from 2021 through 2024. In 2024 she decided to open her own practice with her spouse Bob Cravens, LPCC and Navy Veteran. Now they both run Cravens Mental Health Services, INC.

Before pursuing her Master’s in Social Work, she received her Bachelor’s in Science in Accounting and her Master’s in Business Administration, focusing on Human Resources. During her pursuit of a Master’s in Social Work, she received training in First Responders Trauma, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Suicide Prevention, Psychopharmacology, and differential Diagnosis of Co-Occurring Disorders. Since graduation she has gone through several other trainings as well such as EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and RTM (reconsolidation of trauma memories).

Angelica Cravens works with all mental health disorders, but her focus is Trauma therapy. She is Certified in EMDR therapy and RTM therapy both of which are effective ways to process past trauma.

Angelica Cravens is currently a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW and is also a Clinical Supervisor for both Social Workers and Counselors.

Bob began his counseling career in the United States Navy (76-99), during which he performed collateral duties as a career counselor (82-96) and an equal opportunity programs counselor (86-98). His foray into clinical counseling occurred when Bob became a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor (96-99) and Assistant Director at the US Naval Hospital Counseling Center in Naples, Italy. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy in January 1999, Bob retired in Florida and formed Cravens Professional Services, LLC (1999-2014) in Grant, FL., and began a business focused on training corporations and their leadership to adhere to local, state, and national equal opportunity standards.

The founding of Cravens Professional Services, LLC served as a segue into Life Coaching, Mental Health Counseling, and College Instructor of Psychology and Counseling. Bob’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a Doctorate (all but a dissertation) in Marriage and Family Therapy. While in Florida, Bob was President of the Space Coast Mental Health Counselor’s Association 3 times. Bob holds multiple certifications for specialized therapies, including Clinical Hypnotherapy, RTM and EMDR.

Bob moved to New Mexico in 2014, becoming the Executive Director at Four Winds Behavioral Health (2014-2016) Executive Director for A New Awakening Rio Rancho (2016-2024) and now Bob is proud to announce the opening of Cravens Mental Health Services, Inc. in Rio Rancho, NM, with his wife, Angelica Cravens, LCSW, an independent practitioner.

Michelle holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Phoenix (1999–2003). Before transitioning into the mental health field, she worked as a litigation paralegal, supporting both plaintiffs’ and defendants’ counsel through all stages of the legal process. In May 2020, she earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, also from the University of Phoenix.

Michelle began her counseling journey in 2019 as a practicum student at Southwest Family Guidance Center in Albuquerque, where she continued through both of her internships. She currently works with children and adults, providing Multisystemic Therapy (MST), an evidence-based approach that empowers parents to effectively address behavioral challenges in their children and helps youth navigate issues related to family, peers, school, and their communities.

Since 2021, Michelle has expanded her services to include individual, couples, and family counseling. She works with clients experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Michelle’s decision to become a counselor is deeply personal. Having faced difficult experiences during her own childhood and adolescence that shaped her self-perception and view of the world, she was driven to become the supportive presence she once needed. She brings empathy, insight, and lived experience to her work, creating a safe and understanding space for healing and growth.

Angelo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 2019, followed by his Master of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University in 2022. He currently holds a provisional license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), pending completion of his licensing exam.

Angelo began his career in social work as a residential counselor, supporting individuals with mental illness and behavioral challenges. During his graduate studies, he deepened his understanding of addiction through his work as a substance abuse peer support worker. His lived experience and ongoing recovery journey give him a unique and empathetic perspective in working with clients facing substance use issues.

In 2022, Angelo became certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy for trauma. He also developed a comprehensive 26-week anger management curriculum, which he has successfully facilitated in both individual and group formats for the past two years.

Angelo works with individuals ages 13 to 60 who are navigating trauma, substance use, anger management, and mental health challenges. While he prefers in-person sessions to foster deeper connection, he remains open to providing telehealth services when needed. Committed to continuous growth, Angelo aims to further expand his credentials and knowledge across all areas of social work and counseling.
